End of year maths challenge

Reflection
I was learning to use my knowledge addition and multiplication work out problems. I found the multiplication tricky. I found the multiplication. I need to work on all my tables and know them quickly.   

Skimming and Scanning - Facts about NZ native birds

Reflection in this activity I found it hard because I had to find a lot of information about the kakapo. I was with a buddy my buddy did most of the work. Next time I need to work with my buddy more.

Explanation writing

Reflection
I was learning to write an explanation. It was tricky because there was lots of explaining to do. I asked myself if I would be able to teach somebody else from my explanation. I learnt how to write an explanation. I also  work on my conjunctions.

Reflection In this activity I was learning make inferences by finding in the text. I found this a bit tricky. I need to keep working on inferencing.

Reflection
I was learning to sort the EPS values . it was easy because I know most of the values.  I am going to be working on responsibility because often I forget to do things.

!Adventure to the stars - Narrative Poem!

Reflection I was learning to write a narrative poem . It was tricky because it took a lot of time to write my poem.  I achieved  my rhyming at the end of each sentence and it was ten lines long.  I enjoyed writing it and presenting it to the class.

Reflection I was learning to make a food chain with insects and animals. It was a bit hard as I wasn't sure who ate who. Next time I could work with a buddy and do some research to find out moor

Finding a Fraction of a set

Reflection
We were learning to make groups with a fraction. I found this easy because I I think we are learning about this so we can we  better at our fractions.  Next time I could try finding a 1/3 or 1/6 of a group.

I was learning to answer a range of comprehension questions. I worked with a buddy and found it a bit tricky because it was hard to find all the information. I learnt about water striders.

I was learning to understand my doubles. It was easy because I was really good at my doubles like my 2 doubles 7 doubles 8 doubles 9 doubles 3 doubles.

Reflection
I was learning to find and summarise information in the text.  It was easy because I understood the book that I read.  

What is a habitat

Reflection
I was learning to define a habitat. Now I know a habitat is a place where lots of animals live. It was tricky because I didn't now what a habitat was. Next time I should improve on doing it independently.

A Moment In Time

Reflection I was learning to use strategy to make my writing more interesting. I was able to use an onomatopoeia.  Next time I need to work on using a simile and checking my work for fullstops.

Place Value

Reflection
I was learning to use place value it was easy because I new my 10's and 1's. Next time I need higher numbers.

Softball Clinic

Reflection
I learnt how to bat a ball.
It was tricky to keep the bat in position.
I enjoyed seeing how far the ball went.
Next time I could work on my aiming.

Reflection

i was learning to make a tally chart i thought i will never finish this but I gladly did finish.  I need to keep working on making good statements about the information on a graph.

Reflection In this activity I was learning to write a Bio Poem. I learnt that a Bio Poem it about myself and has lots of steps. I found it tricky to follow the structure and write all the sentences. I need to keep working on following a structure,

Welcome to my Year 4 learning blog. This year I am in room 14 and my teacher is Mrs Prendergast.
